Living In A Caring Community

Living In A Caring Community

In June I had the honor of participating in my community’s neighbor’s night out. Neighborhood events like this give residents the opportunity to get to know their neighbors better and are a fantastic way to help make the community a safer and more pleasant place to live. We had the great pleasure of having some of our municipal councilors and provincial candidates come out and enjoy the evening with us. I had not previously met a lot of our representatives in person and it was a great opportunity to get to talk to them one on one and ask them questions about what their vision was for the future of our ward. We were lucky to also have Toronto Fire services and the Police come out and join in on the festivities. The Kids especially loved the police horses and the fire truck tour. We couldn’t have asked for a better evening filled with all sorts of food fun and laughs. I am definitely looking forward to next year’s neighbor’s night out. I would like to give very warm thank you to Lee Jackson, who has lived in the community for over 40 years and has volunteered her time and supported many others in times of need, for organizing this great annual event. It is truly because of people like her that we can say we live in one of the best communities in the GTA. I am so proud to be a part of the wonderful Emery community and I am looking forward to seeing it prosper in years to come.
